SPS Bioinformatics Morning 2026

The SPS Bioinformatics Morning took place on February 5th at the Agro Paris-Saclay Campus

Bringing together around 30 researchers and doctoral students from SPS laboratories, this event highlighted the diversity of bioinformatics projects developed within the SPS network.

The program was varied, ranging from large-scale sequencing data analysis to interactive visualization of multi-omic data. Lively and fruitful discussions allowed participants to exchange ideas and explore potential collaborations.

Bioinformatics is a major focus among the activities of SPS, which supports teams in their biological data analysis projects, provides bioinformatics training for scientists in its laboratories, and promotes the sharing of expertise within its community.

The SPS – Bioinformatics Analysis and Research Support (SPS-BARS) team, composed of four bioinformaticians, offers weekly moments for discussions on issues encountered in research projects, data analysis workshops, and support for applications to bioinformatics project calls.

Two SPS calls for projects are specifically dedicated to bioinformatics (see links below):

  • The open call Bio-analyses, which aims to provide an SPS research team with support from an SPS-BARS team member for bioanalysis projects lasting 3 or 6 months.
  • The open call for Training in Bioinformatics , which provides scientists in SPS laboratories with financial support to participate in bioinformatics courses;

In addition, bioinformaticians from SPS laboratories are actively involved in teaching bioinformatics as part of the Master's degree in Plant Sciences.

By supporting teams in their bioinformatics projects and assisting students and scientists in their training, SPS promotes the development of bioinformatics within its network.

Organizers:
Etienne Delannoy, Coordinator of the “Bioinformatics and Bioanalysis” Working Group
Nicolas Bouché, Coordinator of the “Bioinformatics and Bioanalysis” Working Group
