SPS and its laboratories at the heart of innovation at the 2026 « Rendez-vous Innovation Agri-Agro & Bioéconomie »

The 2026 "Rendez-vous Innovation Agri-Agro & Bioéconomie" event took place on June 30, 2026. SPS and its laboratories were present, actively participating in three thematic areas and BtoB meetings.

Organized by the University Innovation Cluster (PUI) Innovation Alliance Université Paris-Saclay, the « Rendez-vous Innovation Agri-Agro & Bioéconomie » is part of a broader effort to foster openness and collaboration among researchers, companies, and startups. It aims to highlight and leverage innovation in the agri-food and bioeconomy sectors within the Paris-Saclay community.

SPS and its laboratories widely participated to this event, with booths in three of the five thematic areas: “Sustainable Crop Sectors,” “Sustainable Agricultural and Environmental Systems,” and “Bioeconomy.” This engagement was led by numerous representatives from SPS units, who also participated in BtoB meetings, exchanging ideas with local innovation stakeholders.

For SPS, this participation was an opportunity to strengthen ties with the Paris-Saclay innovation ecosystem, identify opportunities for collaboration with industrial partners and startups, seek concrete applications for research breakthroughs, and discover the latest technological and scientific developments.

Sylvie Dinant, co-coordinator of the SPS “Innovation and Partnerships” Working Group, reflects on the experience:

“Our participation to this event was a good opportunity to highlight the dynamism of the SPS laboratories in the areas of research, training, and innovation. The discussions at our booth allowed us to showcase the diversity of our scientific expertise as well as our world-class technology platforms, which serve as powerful drivers for developing partnerships with academic and socio-economic stakeholders.

The event also provided an opportunity to showcase the wide range of innovation projects underway in our laboratories: public-private partnerships, public-private CIFRE PhD, pre-maturation and maturation projects, as well as the SPS Junior’ Innov and SPS’ Innov programs, which enable us to support ambitious projects with a high-potential of valorization, including those with the highest risk profiles. Indeed, we are currently seeing a particularly encouraging trend in collaborations with startups, which draw not only on the expertise and innovations emerging from our laboratories but also on the pool of young scientists trained through our teaching programs. This meeting confirmed the growing interest among innovation stakeholders in the expertise developed by the SPS community and opens up new opportunities for partnerships.”

The participation of SPS in this event is part of its commitment to increasing its visibility and actively contributing to the innovation ecosystem at the Paris-Saclay University. We hope that the discussions and connections made during this event will pave the way for new collaborations and ambitious projects in the future!
