SPS Meeting 2026: a progress update with our International Scientific Advisory Board

The SPS Meeting 2026 was held on Tuesday October 13 at the INRAE Center in Versailles, with the participation of the members of the SPS International Scientific Advisory Board

The event, which takes place every two years and is reserved for the SPS community, representatives from our institutions and the ANR (French National Research Agency), focused on the progress of the project.

Loïc Lepiniec, as coordinator, began by presenting an overview of SPS: its organization and objectives, its financial aspects, and its main results to date.

The leaders of the various working groups then had the opportunity to discuss with members of the Scientific Advisory Board, using posters to highlight the numerous initiatives and activities led by SPS, and illustrated the results achieved and the work currently underway. This format fostered interaction and discussion on the various aspects of the project.

The early afternoon was dedicated to the doctoral students whose PhDs are fully funded by SPS. They presented their research in the form of flash talks before discussing with the members of the Scientific Advisory Board.

The day ended with the Scientific Advisory Board meeting, followed by a dinner at a restaurant attended by its members and some members of the SPS Executive Committee.

For all participants, this meeting provided an opportunity to take a step back and assess the progress of SPS, acknowledge the goals achieved, and measure how far we’ve come.

The 2026 SPS Meeting was organized just before the 2026 International SPS Symposium, allowing some members of the International Scientific Advisory Board to attend the symposium and continue their discussions there.

SPS would like to thank the members of the International Scientific Advisory Board for their participation and valuable contributions, as well as the leaders of the SPS working groups and the doctoral students for their presentations, and the participants for attending.
