A new start for the SPS community

SPS-GSR Kick-off

The Saclay Plant Sciences - Graduate School of Research project (SPS-GSR) is officially launched!

In the Newsletter of February 2018, we happily and proudly shared the success of SPS-GSR as part of the third round of the Investments for the Future program. This project will enable the SPS community to continue to benefit from funding to build ambitious research projects, develop innovation, partnership with the private sector and technology transfer and, above all, continue and expand the internationalization of our teaching programs and promote links with scientific research. These are key objectives of the SPS-GSR project for the next ten years.

The kick-off meeting took place on October 3, 2018, at the INRA Ile-de-France Versailles-Grignon Center (Versailles site), in the presence of two members of the SPS-GSR International Scientific Advisory Board, Nathalie Verbruggen (Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium) and Bernard Leroux (Bayer, France).

It brought together about 100 participants and allowed not only to present the main aspects of the SPS-GSR project, as well as the two priority topics (bio-analysis and specialized metabolites), but also to give an overview of the progress of SPS2020 projects selected in the second half of the SPS LabEx.

In addition, attendees listened to a presentation of the Université Paris-Saclay, the stages of its construction, its scope, its ambition for the future.

Finally, several ANR representatives were present at this kick-off meeting and explained the role of the ANR in the scientific and financial monitoring of our new project.

The first actions of SPS-GSR should begin in 2019.
